Volunteers

AS A VOLUNTEER AT WORDCAMP LAGOS 2018, YOU WILL:

  • Get an inside look at the planning stages of the conference
  • Be an essential part of the event on the day
  • Spend quality time with the WordCamp Lagos organising committee
  • Have the opportunity to meet speakers
  • Be on the ground, meeting WordCamp attendees
  • Receive an Exclusive, volunteer-only t-shirt

WHAT DO WE NEED HELP WITH?

We need people to help out beforehand with general administration, and volunteers on the ground, on the day – expect to be both exhausted and exhilarated by Saturday evening! Tasks that you may find yourself doing include:

  • Processing registration
  • Putting together swag bags
  • Handing out t-shirts
  • Helping out at lunch time
  • Helping speakers
  • Running around with microphones during Q&A sessions
  • Moving people around
  • General administration

WILL YOU PAY FOR MY EXPENSES?

We are unable to cover expenses for volunteers, which means that if you want to get involved, you will need to cover the costs of travelling to the venue and staying in Lagos (for those who do not reside in Lagos).

Volunteering at WordCamp Lagos is a unique way to contribute to and support the event. It comes with certain perks. If you are employed, why not see if you can persuade your boss to send you. We will put together some pretty compelling reasons to help you convince them.

Remember that if you volunteer, or are sending an employee to volunteer, you must meet the WordCamp Central guidance for volunteers.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

Once you are accepted as a volunteer at WordCamp Lagos, you will be added to the volunteer team and depending on your skills, you will be assigned various tasks to carry out before the event and on the day.

On the day, you will be carrying out your assigned tasks, working as part of a team that we hope will run like clockwork.

Call for volunteers is now closed!
